Rev. Chris Donnelly

Senior Pastor

Originally from upstate New York, Chris graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he studied finance.  He spent the first ten years of his career working in Charlotte, NC, as an accountant for a Finnish paper machine manufacturer.  With the closing of that facility, he attended Reformed Theological Seminary - Charlotte, where he received his Master of Divinity.  Chris, a curious, life-long learner, is currently a D. Min. candidate in Reformed Expository Preaching at RTS.  He interned at Westminster PCA in Rock Hill from 2002 to 2005.  Pastor Donnelly has served the Lord and His people in daily ministry since 2007 in Maryland and Tennessee, most recently as the planting/founding pastor for Immanuel Community Church in Sparta, TN.

Chris and his wife, Kathy, have four adult children and enjoy spending time outside camping, hiking, and gardening.  They also love practicing biblical hospitality and studying God’s Word.  The Donnelly’s are overjoyed to have been called to serve the congregation at Bethel and excitedly look forward to seeing the Lord graciously “do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever” (Eph. 3:20-21).

Rev. Mark A Kozak

Assistant Pastor

A native New Englander, Mark graduated from Bob Jones University, where he met Debra. With a degree in accounting and eventually his CPA certification, Mark worked both in public accounting and industry, eventually ending up at a Christian- owned engineering firm in Greenville, SC. While looking for a more eternal purpose, Mark began attending Greenville Seminary, and completed their MDiv program.  Mark began pastoral ministry as a solo pastor for 10 years in a small PCA church in Barboursville, WV.  There he had opportunity both to individually mentor 4 seminary students and also teach through LAMP Seminary, especially devoted to biblical training for those unable to afford seminary, especially in more rural areas across the country.

Mark and Debra  were married in 1990, and in between relocations bought, fixed up, and sold numerous homes.  When called to attend seminary, Debra carried much of the financial load, though they both recognize God’s constant provision and guidance every step of the way. Mark is confident moving from 2 solo pastorates to Bethel’s assistant pastor position will provide a focused opportunity to serve Christ by an in-depth service to God’s people. Mark’s ministry focus centers on Acts 2: 42 – 47 and seeing the awesome things God does in His church through a Spirit – enabled devotion to the means of grace: the  Word, the sacraments and prayer.

Matt Clay

Matthew Clay

Young Adult Ministry Intern

I am so excited to be joining Bethel and beginning my internship with y’all. I just graduated from Moody Bible Institute with my BA in Theology and will be continuing my education this fall at RTS. I grew up in Harford County Maryland where I attended New Covenant PCA, went to a private elementary school, and finished my education as a homeschooler. In the last four years most of my family has moved down to the Myrtle Beach area, so I have spent that time travelling between SC and Chicago (I definitely prefer SC). The Lord has been calling me to ministry since I was just eight years old, and I have been blessed to witness the doors He has opened to continue to pursue this vocation. I cannot wait to be a part of what God is doing at Bethel and get to share sweet fellowship with you. (A fun fact about me is I love playing disc golf, so I will be taking full advantage of those baskets set up around the church!)

Rev. Michael D. Lee

Assistant Pastor of Church Planting in Indian Land, SC

In 2007, while Michael Lee was Bethel's Assistant Pastor, he and Tricia accepted a call to the foreign mission field. The Lee's last MTW mission assignment before moving back to the U.S. in 2022 was in Panama. Now the Lees are planting a church in Indian Land, SC.

Michael Lee says "Explosive growth is the the term recently used to describe what is happening in Indian Land, South Carolina, the region just south of Charlotte, North Carolina.  Like Christ, Tricia and I see the great number of people moving into this region as “sheep without a shepherd.”  Our hope is to love these people with the love of Christ and share with them the only real hope that can be found in this life.  In this way we will strive to plant a church where the “words of life” are shared, the people rescued from despair growing in their faith, Christ is exalted and His Church is fortified and expanding."
